The John Ball Zoological Garden has in excess of 1,100 animals from around 240 species in specialized habitats. The Budgie Aviary allows visitors to feed birds off of a stick, giving an up-close encounter with many beautiful winged animals, and the Van Andel Living Shores Aquarium and Sting Ray Lagoon both offer interactive exhibits where children can touch the animal inhabitants. Other exhibits host animals from around the world, including chimpanzees, warthogs, grizzly bears and wallabies. Located near central Grand Rapids, the zoo is just northeast of Millennium Park, a family-friendly park and play area located alongside the Grand River.
Open daily mid-May - early Sep: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; early Sep - mid-May: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Adults $7.50; Seniors (63+) $6.50; Children (3-13) $5.50; Children under 3 are free.

great place to go, and prices are good, just a little small, but a lot to see. Loved the Van Andel Living Shores Aquarium.
