BEST..but that doesn't mean you'll always have a good time

Diversions is no doubt the best gay bar/club Grand Rapids has to offer, but I guess I'm spoiled, as I've been to gay clubs in much larger cities. I know you can't expect a club in GR to have the same vibe and style as a club in a city of 1 million+, but it really allows you to notice things. Truth be told, Diversions attracts a young male crowd, but you'll see many older men, straights, and les woman as well..... so everyone would feel welcomed here. That all said, I think the biggest "pro" of Diversions would be their staff. Believe me, I've been to many a gay club with bitches & divas making up 99% of the staff. Not true at Diversions. I haven't met ONE (be it door person or bartender) who hasn't been very sweet and helpful. You won't find that at many clubs..... especially gay ones! The major drawback is it takes awhile for this place to get hoppin'.... and their dance floor is pretty mediocre. The karaoke lounge is OK.
