They also have the nations leading School of Theatre Arts at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. If you've ever wanted to be an actor or just work on your public speaking skills you can take acting/dance/voice/tech classes at the theatre. Their educational staff is top knotch. I would highly recommend you checking out their web site www.grct.org I've personally taken several classes here! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

This theatre has so much character and uniqueness. It is an old theatre that has been updated. The bathrooms need a little more updating though. I have seen about 15 plays there through the years. The actors and stage are excellent. Only once did we see a musical that was pretty boring. They also have a "childrens theatre". Fun plays and musicals that both kids and parents love.

The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre puts on several performances each season with local actors. The plays are well done, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is festive - a fun evening of entertainment! If you're "lucky" the theater bat will circle around the ceiling during the performance! The only problem at the theater is the parking - you will either have to pay or walk.

I have only been to the Civic theater one time but I enjoyed the experience very much. The Civic theater is a local group that does various plays and musicals. The local talent seems to be above average the the show I saw was excellent.Parking is one of the major drawbacks of the Civic theater. It can be tough to find a parking spot if you don't know where to look.

The Grand Rapids Civic Theater is home to locally staged productions of plays and musicals. These productions are a uniquely homegrown affair, using local talent and volunteers for nearly all areas.During the holidays last year, I caught their production of Scrooge!, which is a musical production of Charles Dickens classic. It was a very entertaining and well-acted show, not to mention the lady friend who accompanied me was very impressed.Parking can be a bit tricky down there if you're not familiar with the area and the neighborhood gets a bit seedy if you walk south several blocks. Other than that, it's a wonderful way to spend an evening.
