I avoided Long John Silver's for the first 16 years that I lived in Michigan because they always seem to be in less-than-desirable areas. I'm a bit phobic about food poisoning. I was pleasantly surprised when we first tried LJS. The fish didn't taste 'fishy' or 'off' in any way. Now we like it even better, with their inexpensive fish and shrimp that is not batter dipped. It's as good as the fish at a sit-down restaraunt, without the nice atmosphere or expense!
