It has come to my "attention" that certain members who own Jewelry Stores are purposely fabricating false meetings and circumstances. Shame on you! Just as a point I made an appointment to see the the showroom, went in dressed "very casually" and was treated rather pleasantly even though I didnt actually intend to purchase anything (which I was upfront about as well). So please people, spare us teh politics, reviews are for information, not counter-intelligence. (Id rate the establishment at 4 stars given it had no fancy colored diamonds in stock)

I have read previous reviews and was shocked and confused...Had I dealt with the same Paul Medawar as the earlier reviewers? Or was this his 'Good Twin'? Mr. Medawar was gracious and patient with me. My purchase was not large but he treated me as if I had purchased one of his beautiful diamond rings or the Rolex watches that had caught my interest. Not only was he charming, but he gave me a tour of the watch/jewelry repair area to rest any fears I have about future purchases. When I decided to sell some of my older gold items, even though it was a small amount, I was greeted by name and given wonderful service. As far as what I was wearing that day...I'm sure I was in my favorite jeans and clogs. There was not a hint of disapproval from Mr. Medawar or his staff. Mr. Medawa will be my jeweler! He has a very creative staff that genuinely wants you to be pleased with your jewelry purchase. I encourage anyone who reads this to visit Medawar Fine Jewelers and meet the real Paul Medawar. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I purchased a platinum ring & had my diamond set into a new setting in July 2006. After wearing 3 mths the platinum scratched horribly especially for the thousands of $$ I paid for it. I asked Paul Medawar if I could look into resetting the ring into something else. He started yelling & screaming at me in front of other customers saying that I picked this ring, it was my choice, etc. I totally agree with that. I again asked him for his professional advice on what we could agree on together to compromise on a solution. He went ballistic & was very unprofessional. I have never been treated so rudely. He bullied me right out of the store. He is a very unkind, rude, condescending, vicious & dishonorable man. I have since contacted the Better Busi. Bureau regarding Mr. Medawar's behavior. Of course, there has been no reconciliation for the work he performed for me & his responses have been total denial of mistreatment or severity of overcharging me for the work he performed. I wanted to get the word out to all of you in hopes of letting you know what could happen to you. Please be careful. For those of you who have had a positive experience....you are the lucky ones! Unfortunately, I personally know of nine other people who have also received negative treatment from Paul Medawar. Therefore, this needs to stop!! He does not deserve to have customers. If you have been mistreated, you need to speak out. What happened to me was so distasteful that I want to let others know. For me...this is a big step as I am a very quite, shy person. But this one took the cake. What I get such a kick out of is his billboards that say "Paul Medawar's...Your Jeweler...Your Friend!" How far from the truth is that? It actually makes me snicker! Talk about false advertising..does this give you a clue of what a sly dog he is? I have since brought my ring to another jeweler who has done fantastic work for me & has treated me with respect and diginity. I highly recommend "JUHAS AND SULLIVAN"!

I grew up with very little money. As an adult, I make good money but I choose to live like someone with little money. Thus, no fancy clothes, cars or jewelry. I buy my clothes from JCPenny and have an economy car so I'm certainly not a bum. Just, normal. I went to Medawars to have an old ring of my grandmothers made into something for myself. For that, I was willing to go the extra mile monetarily speaking as I wanted it to be very special. I walked into the store with my jeans and ski jacket on and talked to an older "gentleman" whom I believe may have been Mr. Medawar himself. I was not greeted with a smile. I was not greeted with a hello. He walked out and stared at me. I gave him the ring and told him I wanted to make a new ring out of it. His response??? "Well it starts at $1500 just to get a mold started." Once again I was treated to the stare. He acted like he was annoyed to have me in his presense. I have absolutely no doubt that had I walked in with an expensive outfit on, decked out in massive gold jewelry, the scenario would have been different. To say he was pompous is an understatement. I don't care how well made his jewelry is, I wouldn't recommend this store to ANYONE unless they want to support someone who is blatantly discriminatory against those he feel are "beneath" him. I hope the owner of that store does read this entry because I want him to know that he missed out on a very large sale and hopefully many more as well. Shame on you. EVERYONE deserves respect upon entering your establishment. EVERYONE.

After meeting with Mr. Medewar I have decided that I no longer need to look for another jeweler. He was courteous and professional, and knows quality when he sees it. Paul's expertise is world class. I am truly happy with the Service I have received from him and his friendly staff.
