Generally, diagnostic x-ray pictures will be taken which are a valuable adjunct for this evaluation. We will not perform any treatment at this visit. However, your child will receive a toothbrush kit and be shown how to use it. The Pediatric dentist is the specialist who is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen-age years. The very young, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with their behavior, guiding their dental growth and development and helping them avoid future dental problems. Don't let the name fool you, Dr. Payne made taking my son to the dentist a pain-free experience. My son used to be mortified of the dentist (but then again, who isn't?) Dr. Payne and staff have miraculously changed his outlook. I'm not sure how they did it, but I'm eternally grateful.
