I love my two birds with all my heart. I have a cockitiel and a sun conure who need to get nail & wing trims roughly every 3 months. One of the owners, Dr. Farnham, is the vet I take them to see here in Kentwood. He's very gentle yet firm with my nervous birds and is able to groom them safely. When you understand the delicacy of the situation, you appeciate a vet with his skill. There aren't many bird vets in the Grand Rapids area. I have taken mine to another one in the area who was a nice enough guy but who failed to get my birds to hold still while minimizing their stress. That's a serious issue when you realize birds can be injured in these situations. I would highly recommend Ed for your bird's care. One more thing: never have only one bird--it makes them lonely, even though humans are in the house. Put yourself in their shoes. Being stuck in a cage is not natural and not fun, so at least give them another bird for their own kind of companionship. Two birds are ALWAYS better than one.
